Our clients, a couple, purchased a home, and subsequently discovered that the sellers had misstated several significant facts in sellers’ disclosure. Sellers failed to disclose that their renovations to the residence were not permitted and did not comply with city building codes. Our clients were faced with the loss of use of a bedroom and bathroom and with substantial loss in value to their home. We were able to obtain the seller’s agreement to correct all of the defects in the renovated section of the house and to pay our clients’ expenses.
